The San Jacinto Council is divided into Areas dependent upon school district boundaries.  Areas are subdivided into Service Units (SUs) which serve a specific set of schools.  Katy ISD is located in Area 17 of the San Jacinto Council and is made up of six different Service Units.  Service Units are the volunteer support teams made up of experienced Troop Leaders trained in the administrative duties pertinent to managing a large number of troops.  The SU supports leaders, facilitates training, idea sharing, networking, event planning, and distributes program opportunites for the Girl Scouts and Leaders it serves.
