Parent Volunteer Opportunities: Girl Scouting cannot exist without adult volunteers. Parents and other interested adults provide support to the troop and can share in their daughter’s experiences. Please indicate in your email which troop roles would be of interest to you. The following are essential to the success of any troop:
Leadership Team: a minimum of two adults are required per troop. Training is provided. Leaders/co-leaders perform a variety of functions to manage a group of girls and establish relationships with adults.
Program Helpers: Assist leaders with earned awards, service projects, arts and crafts, attending service unit meetings, and/or service unit events.
Fall Product Manager: Coordinates troop participation in the annual Fall Product and attends training that is provided by the Council.
Cookie Manager: Coordinates troop participation in the annual cookie sale and attends training that is provided by the Council.
Troop Treasurer: Offers guidance and assistance with product/cookie sales and other troop money-earning activities. Keeps accounts and complete yearly financial report.
First Aider: Volunteers are current Red Cross First Aider (First-Aid and CPR trained, area training facilitated by your Service Unit). One of the following professionals may also serve as a First-Aider without additional training: LVN, RN, EMT, Paramedic, Emergency Special Skills Technician, Licensed Physician Assistant, Dentist, or Medical Doctor. The first aider accompanies the troop when camping or attending activities away from the regular meeting place.
Camping: Assist the troop in the progression for camping or other outdoor activities. Troop camp training is offered by the Council.
Do-Dads: Adult Males who assist troop leaders with a variety of activities.
Thank you for supporting Girl Scouts!
